Online Backup Services

While tape backups provide a certain level of protection against data-loss, they are far from foolproof.  Not only is there a risk that either the backup had errors or the data has become corrupted, but there is the pragmatic question of how to restore – if the physical system is unavailable, the IT director is left with a handful of tapes and very few options.

CIS offers an alternative to the tape backup method of yesteryear by way of a robust online backup service.  After an initial seed of your data store, changes are sent nightly to our datacenter in Netcong, NJ.  The changes, or deltas, are not merged with the seed for a set number of days, allowing you to “reach back” and recover files even weeks after they were corrupted, accidentally or maliciously deleted, or changed.  Your systems can be backed up on a server-by-server, folder-by-folder, or file-by-file basis, or any combination thereof – allowing you fine-grained control over what you archive.

Because the CIS solution is a managed service, in the event of a disaster, you have many options available.  Not only do you have granular access to your backed-up files at all times, but we can help you bounce back from a catastrophe.  This can mean a number of things – from hosting a system on a Citrix server for your users to remotely access, to building out a new server environment in our datacenter and delivering it to your working environment.  While there are many different types of remote backup available on the market today, the CIS remote backup solutions grant our users a level of protection not offered by other firms – and the peace of mind that comes with knowing that, if something does go wrong, a CIS engineer will be there to pick up the phone and help with the recovery process.
